Hey, it’s Bridget, a certified sleep
science coach and Mattress expert here at Sleepopolis.
And today I’m Going to be reviewing the Tempur-Cloud Mattress. I’m going to put it through
a variety of tests and let You know how it does on our
Sleepopolis scorecard before We dive in, here’s an overview of the
Tempur-cloud. We have the all foam in the medium
firmness level. It’s ten inches tall with a medium
firm to slightly firmer Feel. It has a breathable cover, and
that classic Slow-moving memory foam. I do want to
say Tempur-Pedic sent Us the Tempur-Cloud for free to tell
you about. And if you decide to buy This mattress through our link, we may
get a commission. But that never Sways our opinions and rather helps us
keep these reviews free. And if You buy this mattress, you’re going to

Tempur-Cloud Comes compressed in a reusable canvas
bag, so I recommend Having a friend help set it up. As you
can see, my coworker Amelia So kindly did here, then give it a day
or two to fully expand And release any packing smell. Our first test can be really important
if you share the Bed with a partner or a pet checking
for motion isolation. So motion transfer is how movement
carries from one side of The bed to the other. So if you’re
over here, you don’t Want to feel your partner tossing and
turning over there. So we first tested Out with our very visual red wine
test. I put a glass of wine on one side and
had my coworker Amelia move Around on the other side to see how it
affected it. And it did a really good job with
basically no Movement. Then I moved around on the
other side instead of having The wine there, to see how much of a
real human’s movement she could feel. And she said it did great. So overall,
I’d give it five Stars for motion isolation. Next up is our edge support test. Edge
support is A measure of how well the perimeter of
a mattress can support weight.
So this is important if you like to
sit on the edge of The bed or you like to sleep near it
at night. To start the test, I sat on the edge and moved around,
and you could tell it was sinking Down. Then I laid down and moved
around on the side of the bed and You can see it’s still sinking down.
So overall, I’d give it three and a half stars for
edge support. Now let’s do the pressure map test.
Although I can Tell you that the Tempur-Cloud has
that quick stand like foam, Which can be great for pressure
relief, the pressure map takes it a step Further. It uses heat mapping
technology to show where pressure is Building across my body when I lay on
the mattress. So here’s what you need To know when you’re looking at these
results. Blues and greens are good and Are showing low pressure. Oranges and
reds are bad and are showing High pressure. You’re going to want to
see low pressure around Your back, hips and shoulders if you
sleep on your side or back. And when I laid on my back, there was
basically no pressure On my side. There was just a tiny bit
of pressure, but it looked Really good overall. So overall, I’d give the Tempur-Cloud in the
medium five stars For pressure relief for back sleeping,
and four and a half stars For pressure relief for side sleeping.
Now, you may have noticed I haven’t mentioned stomach sleeping.
It’s not really about pressure for Them. We’re about to cover that more
next. Now let’s go over the different
sleeping positions and how I think They do on the Tempur-Cloud. So,
regardless of your sleeping Position, you want your spine to be in
alignment. But depending On that sleeping position, you need
different things out of a mattress to make It happen. Stomach sleepers need a
firm mattress to Keep their hips elevated and in line
with their shoulders. And I think their Hips may sink in when laying on the
bed, which isn’t great for That healthy sleep posture. So I’d
give it two and a half stars For stomach sleeping. Side sleepers need sinkage and relief
around their shoulder and hip, And I think the foams in this bed did
a great job conforming.
So I’d give it five stars for side
sleeping, While back sleepers need a comfortable
and supportive option. And this felt Great while back sleeping. So I’d give
it five stars for back sleeping. Now, let’s test for responsiveness,
which is basically how Easily you can move around on a
mattress. So this can be important For combination sleepers or anyone
with mobility issues. And I would say the Tempur-Cloud has
that really slow moving foam Where you’re kind of hugged by it, and
it’s not going to be the Bounciest mattress out there. So
overall, I would give it Three stars for responsiveness. Price is, of course, a really
important factor when looking to buy A new mattress. I do want to point out
